Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Junior Associate in San Francisco, California, to join their regulatory team focusing on consumer protection. The ideal candidate will have experience in data protection legal frameworks, privacy compliance, and regulatory investigations. This partner track position requires strong analytical and communication skills, with a commitment to exemplary client service.

Duties

  • Counsel businesses on global and U.S. data protection legal frameworks.
  • Assist with compliance issues related to CCPA, GDPR, and other privacy laws.
  • Draft and revise privacy notices, terms of service, and data protection policies.
  • Negotiate data processing and commercial agreements involving data sharing.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations on privacy compliance.
  • Advise on privacy and security-related due diligence in corporate transactions.
  • Drive data breach preparation and response efforts.
  • Establish AI governance programs and policies.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection.
  • Experience defending data privacy and security class actions.
  • Ability to engage directly with clients and lead significant projects.
  • General tech fluency and impeccable analytical and writing skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications

  • Member of the California State Bar in good standing.
