This senior-level role requires a deep understanding of estate law, tax implications, and trust administration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in managing complex estate matters and a passion for delivering tailored solutions to clients.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, structure, and implement sophisticated estate plans, including trusts, wills, and asset protection strategies.

  • Counsel clients on tax-efficient wealth transfers, business succession, charitable giving, and legacy planning.

  • Oversee the administration of estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations.

  • Represent clients in probate and estate-related disputes, offering skilled advocacy in negotiations and court proceedings when necessary.

  • Collaborate with financial planners, accountants, and investment advisors to develop holistic estate strategies.

  • Stay up-to-date with the changes in estate, tax, and trust laws to proactively adjust client strategies.

  • Guide and mentor junior attorneys and staff, fostering professional growth within the department.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in trusts and estates law, with a demonstrated ability to manage high-value estates.

  • Expertise in estate and tax planning, trust administration, and probate law.

  • Strong ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear, client-focused manner.

  • Proven experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families.

  • Track record of successful estate and trust planning, including business succession strategies.

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois, or be eligible for admission.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
