Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Data Protection and Commercial Contracts Counsel in Naples, FL. This role involves leading the firm's data protection strategy and assisting with commercial contracts to ensure compliance with relevant laws and ethical obligations.

Duties

• Develop and maintain data protection strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Advise on data protection and AI legal developments.
• Review and negotiate vendor and client contracts.
• Monitor compliance with data protection policies and laws.
• Support the firm's health plan privacy program.
• Assist with client data protection audits and inquiries.
• Collaborate on incident response and remediation.
• Develop data protection training programs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data protection and privacy risk experience.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of contract law and data protection principles.
• Knowledge of U.S. and foreign data protection laws, including GDPR.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar license in state of residence and office location.
• CIPP/US and CIPP/AIGP certifications preferred.
