Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Draft legal documents including briefs, memoranda, contracts, motions, and pleadings.
  • Appear in court for criminal, traffic, and civil matters.
  • Assist in client consultations and case strategy development.
  • Support attorneys during client meetings, hearings, and negotiations.
  • Participate in negotiations with opposing counsel and clients.
  • Conduct due diligence for estate and business planning matters.
  • Assist with litigation discovery and case preparation.
  • Manage and maintain organized case files and legal documentation.
  • Stay informed about current laws and regulatory developments.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice in Virginia (or awaiting bar results).
  • Strong research skills with experience using LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Excellent legal writing ability.
  • Working knowledge of multiple practice areas.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Sound judgment and professional demeanor in client interactions.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Legal administrative experience preferred but not required.
