Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a Corporate Associate with 2–5 years of experience to join its Corporate & Finance group. This opportunity is available in any of the firm’s Ohio offices. The role offers the chance to work on high-profile, complex transactions in a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in both private equity and strategic mergers and acquisitions and will be eager to contribute to a sophisticated corporate practice serving a diverse client base.

Location

  • Columbus, Ohio

Duties

  • Advise clients on a wide range of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures

  • Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, merger agreements, and related deal documentation

  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessment for corporate transactions

  • Assist with private equity deals, joint ventures, and other investment transactions

  • Provide general corporate counsel, including entity formation, corporate governance, and compliance

  • Coordinate with colleagues across departments to support client needs on multifaceted matters

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in corporate law, with specific experience in M&A transactions

  • Background in both private equity and strategic acquisitions preferred

  • Ability to handle multiple deal-related tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality legal service

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Strong academic record required

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio or eligible for admission

Skills

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
