Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Junior Associate Attorney specializing in Family Law to join their team in Arlington Heights, IL. The role involves assisting partners with various family law matters across the Chicago area counties, including Cook, DuPage, and Lake.

Duties

  • Assist in handling pre- and post-decree family law cases.
  • Draft pleadings and legal documents.
  • Attend court appearances and hearings.
  • Prepare and issue discovery requests.
  • Compile financial affidavits.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and advice.
  • Collaborate with legal and support staff on administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
  • 0-5 years of experience in family law is preferred.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and client-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy.
  • Familiarity with Smokeball is desirable.
