Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented and driven mid-level litigation associate to join their practice in Los Angeles, CA. The litigation team provides practical advocacy, guiding clients through complex business litigation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in litigation and will handle a diverse caseload, provide legal counsel, and represent clients in various legal matters. Bar admission is required in the attorney's resident and/or affiliated office.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
  • Draft and respond to initial pleadings and discovery.
  • Navigate and manage all aspects of discovery disputes.
  • Conduct and manage all fact and expert discovery, including e-discovery strategy and processes.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Manage litigation independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in general commercial litigation.
  • Strong analytical abilities and excellent client-relations skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the attorney's resident and/or affiliated office.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities.
