Senior Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:

A prominent law firm located in Plano, TX, is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to manage a high-volume caseload focused on residential real estate litigation, mortgage disputes, and related transactional matters. This opportunity is offered through a legal recruiting firm on behalf of the hiring law firm. The selected candidate will represent institutional and financial clients in a variety of legal proceedings, with an emphasis on courtroom litigation and legal compliance.

Duties:

  • Manage a full litigation caseload with minimal supervision

  • Represent clients in mediations, hearings, and trials

  • Perform legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence

  • Handle depositions and prepare witnesses

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal procedural rules

  • Travel for court appearances and client meetings, as necessary

  • Collaborate effectively with internal legal teams and external stakeholders

  • Contribute to ongoing legal projects and firm-wide initiatives

  • Maintain accurate billing and time records in line with client expectations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant litigation and courtroom experience

  • Significant exposure to mortgage-related disputes or real estate litigation

  • Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing

  • Skilled in preparing for and executing depositions

  • Proven ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents and correspondence

  • Strong knowledge of evidentiary rules and civil procedure in both state and federal courts

  • Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw or Fastcase

  • Texas Bar admission preferred; dual licensure a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral advocacy

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • Team-oriented approach with a willingness to support colleagues

  • High attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
