Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Patent Agent/Advisor with expertise in computer science or electrical engineering to join their patent counseling and prosecution practice in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and communication skills to support patent attorneys in various legal processes.

Duties

  • Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
  • Analyze patent and scientific papers to assist in patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation.
  • Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
  • Advise lawyers on technology issues in preparation for depositions.

Requirements

  • Industry experience in computer science or electrical engineering.
  • Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Broad scientific knowledge in computer science or electrical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software interaction.
  • Expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning preferred.
  • Eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration exam.

Education

  • Degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Certifications

  • Eligibility for USPTO registration as a patent agent.

Skills
