Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented attorney to join their team in downtown Pensacola, Florida. The successful candidate will assist the legal pre-litigation team in negotiating settlements and preparing correspondence to resolve civil disputes, as well as work with the litigation team to prepare cases for trial.

Duties

  • Manage, supervise, and negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers.
  • Resolve outstanding medical balances with providers.
  • Request and obtain medical records from providers.
  • Communicate with clients and providers during the course of treatment.
  • Secure documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions.
  • Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers for updated records and balances.
  • Communicate with existing and potential clients via telephone and in person.
  • Effectively manage and maintain a high volume of cases.
  • Partner with coworkers in the management and support of injury files.
  • File lawsuits and prosecute injury cases to resolution.
  • Participate in firm community service and marketing initiatives.
  • Perform legal research and draft legal memoranda and briefs.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a fully accredited law school.
  • An active member in good standing with the Florida Bar Association.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills.
  • Self-starter driven by long-term career goals.
  • Superior writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Must be a people person.
  • Prior management experience is a plus.

Education

  • Law degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Florida Bar License (Required).
