Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Associate to join its San Francisco, CA office. This role involves working on innovative patent prosecution and litigation matters alongside a team of seasoned attorneys.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
• Develop and manage strategic IP portfolios for clients.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior associates.
• Conduct pre-litigation diligence.
• Draft pleadings, conduct legal research, and prepare expert witnesses.
• Engage in post-grant proceedings, such as inter partes reviews.
• Take and defend depositions.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of post-JD experience in patent prosecution and IP litigation.
• Admission to practice before the USPTO.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state/jurisdiction where the position is based.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering required.
• Graduate degree or industry experience in these disciplines preferred.

Certifications

• Admission to practice before the USPTO.
