Job Overview

A law firm seeks a finance associate with expertise in Fund Finance and Private Credit transactions to join its Leveraged Finance subgroup in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of relevant experience in fund finance, private credit, leveraged finance, debt capital markets, and/or structured finance.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft well-reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, and contracts.
  • Assist in managing complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional support and advice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative case strategies.
  • Participate in high-level legal activities such as court hearings and negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal precedents.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance legal and leadership skills.
  • Contribute to firm programs, civic organizations, and pro bono work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of experience in leveraged finance.
  • Experience with AmLaw 100 firm preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good business and professional judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Education

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice in the state of Texas.

Skills

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Persuasive communication and management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
