A law firm seeks a motivated and capable litigation attorney to join its Chandler, Arizona office in a hybrid role. The successful candidate will engage in various civil litigation matters—ranging from wrongful death and premises liability to personal injury, construction disputes, and breach of contract cases—managing each file from inception through resolution.

Duties

  • Oversee case strategy, perform legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, and legal briefs

  • Manage discovery processes, including propounding and responding to written discovery

  • Conduct and defend depositions, and argue motions in court

  • Attend mediations, arbitration sessions, and trials as needed

  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses

  • Collaborate with colleagues on case planning, strategy, and settlement negotiations

  • Monitor case deadlines and coordinate filings with courts

  • Work with mentors and partners to refine legal reasoning and advocacy skills

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of civil litigation experience, including at least one year defending tort claims

  • Proven ability to conduct in-depth legal research and analyze complex documents

  • Track record of preparing pleadings, drafting discovery responses, and writing persuasive briefs

  • Experience taking and defending depositions and handling motion practice

  • Capacity to manage a diverse caseload autonomously while also contributing to a team environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a client-centered approach

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar of Arizona, or eligibility for admission via reciprocity or motion

Skills

  • Exceptional advocacy and oral argument proficiency

  • Detail-oriented legal research and writing capabilities

  • Effective negotiation and conflict-resolution techniques

  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize multiple deadlines

  • Client management and relationship-building aptitude
