Job Overview: A mid-sized, AV-rated civil litigation defense law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its downtown Las Vegas office. This role involves managing large and complex cases, engaging in law and motion practice, and handling civil discovery processes. Ideal candidates will be energetic, outgoing, and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Location:

  • Las Vegas, Nevada

Duties:

  • Evaluate cases, identify issues, and provide case handling recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and counsel.
  • Propound and respond to discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
  • Draft various legal documents, including complaints, motions, and pleadings.
  • Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
  • Argue motions at court hearings.
  • Prepare for and attend mediation sessions.
  • Display an interest in trials and arbitration.
  • Deliver high-quality service to all clients.

Requirements:

  • Active membership and good standing with the Nevada Bar.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with court procedures, E-filing, and relevant software (Excel, Word, IManage, Outlook, Serengeti Tracker, Time Matters, PowerPoint).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Nevada.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competence in case management and client communication.
  • Familiarity with legal software and tools, such as Excel, Word, and case management software.
