Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Litigation Attorney for its Indianapolis, IN office. This role offers an opportunity to develop litigation skills, including file management, motion practice, and trial preparation, within a supportive team environment.

Duties

  • Represent clients in federal and some state court litigation proceedings.
  • Conduct written discovery and take depositions.
  • Draft and argue discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Participate in settlement conferences and mediations.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and draft related agreements.
  • Appear in court proceedings nationwide, with occasional travel required.
  • Communicate with co-defendant and plaintiff counsel on case matters.
  • Advise clients on litigation avoidance and liability limitation.

Requirements

  • Licensed in Indiana; additional state licenses are a plus.
  • 1-5 years of litigation experience, preferably on the defense side.
  • Self-motivated with a team-oriented approach.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Indiana.
