Associate Attorney Litigation & Public Interest

A law firm seeks a dynamic Associate Attorney to join its Los Angeles office. This role blends high-stakes commercial and regulatory litigation with pioneering public interest advocacy on issues such as civil rights, reproductive justice, and immigrant protections.

Duties

• Lead and support complex litigation matters in commercial disputes, securities/regulatory enforcement, employment discrimination, and internal investigations

• Conduct in-depth factual and legal research; prepare motions, briefs, and client correspondence

• Manage all phases of discovery, including document review, depositions, and evidentiary hearings

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on white-collar defense and internal inquiry projects

• Advocate for public interest causes—gender and racial equity, LGBTQ+ rights, religious freedom, democracy protection, and immigrants’ rights

• Mentor junior team members and coordinate with operations staff to ensure streamlined case workflows

Requirements

• Practical litigation or public interest experience at a law firm, federal clerkship, or advocacy organization

• Outstanding academic credentials and strong professional references or a clerkship background

• Proven ability to handle multiple high-pressure matters both independently and as part of a team

• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by hire date

• Commitment to advancing both commercial client objectives and public interest missions

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar (or eligibility to waive in upon hire)
