Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney for a full-time, on-site position in Castle Rock, CO. The attorney will manage a caseload involving divorce, custody, child support, adoption, paternity, and related family law matters from initial consultation through resolution.

Duties

  • Meet with clients and assess legal issues.
  • Draft pleadings and motions.
  • Conduct discovery and prepare for depositions.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on legal strategies.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients regarding case status.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in law with the ability to analyze complex legal issues in family law.
  • Substantive experience in family law, including divorce, custody, and support proceedings.
  • Proficiency in drafting and arguing motions with excellent written advocacy skills.
  • Experience in preparing for and conducting depositions.
  • Solid courtroom experience, including hearings and trials.
  • Strong client communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and prioritize deadlines.
  • Prior experience in a law firm setting is beneficial.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Colorado bar admission or ability to obtain promptly.
