Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Insurance Coverage Attorney with over three years of experience to join its dynamic team in Chicago, IL. This role offers the chance to work on sophisticated insurance coverage matters, providing hands-on experience and direct client interaction in a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Analyze insurance policies and evaluate complex coverage issues.
• Draft coverage opinions and related correspondence.
• Litigate insurance coverage matters, including depositions and trials.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic guidance.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex matters.

Requirements

• Admission to practice in Illinois required; Indiana admission is a plus.
• 3+ years of insurance coverage and/or litigation experience.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.

Skills

• Professional liability coverage expertise.
• Directors & Officers (D&O) liability coverage knowledge.
• Financial institutions coverage experience.
• Proficiency in coverage opinion drafting and policy analysis.
• Experience in insurance coverage litigation.
