A law firm seeks a Senior Trusts and Estates Attorney to join their team in Sarasota, Florida. This role involves complex drafting and technical work, including wills, trusts, and tax strategies, with the potential for remote work.

Duties

  • Draft complex wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and related documents.
  • Develop estate and gift tax strategies for high-net-worth clients.
  • Manage ongoing trust administration and estate planning matters.
  • Prepare health care advance directives and durable powers of attorney.
  • Represent clients in estate and trust administration and tax controversies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in estate and trust planning.
  • Technical expertise in drafting complex legal documents.
  • Experience with estate and gift tax planning and return preparation.
  • Ability to handle sophisticated matters with minimal supervision.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Member of The Florida Bar or licensed in another state with willingness to sit for the Florida Bar exam.
  • Florida Bar Board Certification in a relevant area preferred.
  • LL.M. in Tax strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
