Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Intellectual Property Associate with a technical or engineering focus to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have two to four years of experience in intellectual property matters, including patent and trade secret cases. This role requires strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, along with the ability to work independently.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents related to intellectual property cases.
• Collaborate with team members on complex litigation matters.
• Advise clients on intellectual property strategies and protection.
• Represent clients in court and administrative proceedings.

Requirements

• Two to four years of experience in intellectual property law.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong communication skills.
• Membership in the State Bar of Illinois or eligibility to obtain it.

Education

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent preferred.

Certifications

• Admission to the State Bar of Illinois required.
