Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Intake Attorney to join their Immigration practice in Koreatown, Los Angeles. This role involves evaluating case viability, guiding clients through complex immigration matters, and ensuring high-quality intake processes. The attorney will collaborate with various teams to maintain firm standards and drive revenue performance.

Duties

  • Supervise legal strategy within the Business Development team to ensure compliance with intake protocols.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with prospective clients, both in person and via phone.
  • Assess eligibility and recommend appropriate legal pathways.
  • Communicate case details and recommendations to the Intake Committee.
  • Explain complex immigration concepts and strategies clearly.
  • Advise on immigration options, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review immigration filings for accuracy and legal sufficiency.
  • Develop case strategy and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS interviews.
  • Conduct legal research and case analysis to identify benefits and risks.
  • Draft, review, and submit legal briefs across immigration matters.
  • Partner with the training team to provide subject matter training.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for the Legal Intake Department.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor and active bar license in good standing.
  • 3 to 5 years of Immigration Law experience, including litigation.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong client focus and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a KPI-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to contribute to revenue growth.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Intake or client base development experience preferred.
  • Experience managing caseloads through direct reports.
  • Experience with Family Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR removal defense, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
  • Tech-savvy with case management systems such as Clio or Zoho.
  • Ability to identify operational and business challenges and support business objectives.
