Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced Employment and Labor Litigation Senior Attorney to join its practice in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in employment and labor law, providing strategic legal counsel and representation to employers.

Duties

  • Defend employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour cases.
  • Prosecute and defend non-compete litigation.
  • Assist clients with collective bargaining and traditional labor matters.
  • Advise on compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Draft and revise employment policies.
  • Handle grievances, arbitrations, and unfair labor practice charges.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in employment and labor litigation.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan, or eligible for admission.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and superior judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and articulate legal strategies.

 

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan.

 

Skills

  • Experience in taking depositions and arguing motions.
  • Ability to prepare cases for trial and handle collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
