Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Patent Attorney to join their Intellectual Property practice in a fully remote capacity. The role involves preparing and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications, conducting IP due diligence, and advising clients on patent-related transactions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with MS Office applications and familiar with law firm environments, including document management and billing systems.

Duties

  • Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.

  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and engage in practice development.
  • Utilize document management and billing platforms effectively.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Licensed in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience with U.S. and foreign patent application drafting and prosecution.
  • Background in wireless technology, software, or AI.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent legal reasoning.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO.
  • Experience in a collaborative team environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and intellectual curiosity.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Certifications

  • Registered to practice before the USPTO.
