A law firm in Sydney is seeking a Senior Corporate and Commercial Associate Attorney with 3+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a busy corporate and/or commercial practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients in a variety of commercial transactions, ranging from procurement and joint ventures to M&A support and competition law issues. This role involves working with clients across diverse industries, with a focus on the consumer markets/retail sector, including some of Australia's well-known brands.

 

Job Details:

  • Assist clients with various commercial transactions, including procurement, joint ventures, supply, distribution, marketing arrangements, M&A support, and business acquisitions/divestments.
  • Address competition and consumer law issues, including unfair contract terms.
  • Handle the commercialization of intellectual property.
  • Provide guidance on corporate governance matters.
  • Navigate the Franchising Code of Conduct and associated franchise sector regulatory issues.
  • Tackle other day-to-day commercial legal issues in clients' businesses.
  • Work with clients from a broad range of industries, with a focus on the consumer markets/retail industry.
  • Utilize excellent technical and legal drafting skills.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills, managing multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously.
  • Exhibit strong client liaison skills.

 

Requirements:

3+ years post-qualification experience, ideally within a busy corporate and/or commercial practice.

 

Education:

LL.B or JD degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent technical and legal drafting skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong client liaison skills.
