Job Title: Lead Trial Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a driven and skilled Lead Trial Attorney to manage a selective caseload of personal injury matters from intake through verdict. The role includes relocation assistance and is eligible for a signing bonus.

Duties:

  • Manage personal injury cases from initial consultation through resolution, including trial

  • Develop litigation strategies grounded in procedural rules and evidentiary standards

  • Draft, file, and argue motions with clarity and legal precision

  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials

  • Maintain close client communication, offering guidance and assurance throughout the legal journey

  • Collaborate with litigation support and paralegal staff to prepare for court proceedings

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of applicable procedural rules to effectively navigate litigation

  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives to improve processes and outcomes

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in plaintiff or defense personal injury litigation

  • Prior experience with jury trials

  • Admitted and in good standing with the State Bar of New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, or Colorado

  • Experience conducting and defending depositions

  • Strong drafting and motion practice background

  • Proven ability to interact confidently with clients

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in New Mexico or eligibility for reciprocity

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of civil procedure and rules of evidence

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Creative legal thinking with disciplined execution

  • Professional demeanor and effective communication style

  • Ability to receive and incorporate feedback constructively

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus

Job Location:

  • Albuquerque, NM (Hybrid schedule with one remote day per week)
