Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate for the Mergers & Acquisitions team in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative environment, engaging with a diverse client base and participating in business development activities.

Duties

  • Lead initial stages of deals, including negotiating term sheets and drafting purchase/merger agreements.
  • Manage multiple transactional matters simultaneously.
  • Collaborate closely with shareholders and participate in client-facing activities.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of transactional/M&A experience, primarily with private company M&A.
  • Experience with private equity/sponsor clients on acquisitions, dispositions, and growth equity.
  • Admitted in, or taking steps to become admitted in, California or Illinois.

Education

  • J.D. degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the bar in the applicable jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
