Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Senior Oil and Gas Attorney in Oklahoma City, OK. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of legal matters within the oil and gas sector, including regulatory compliance, contracts, transactions, and litigation. This role provides the opportunity to work on significant cases and offer strategic legal counsel to a diverse client base.

Duties

  • Provide expert legal advice on oil and gas matters, including exploration, production, leasing, and royalties.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to oil and gas operations.
  • Represent clients in litigation involving mineral rights, lease agreements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
  • Stay informed on regulations impacting the oil and gas industry and ensure client compliance.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to expand the firm's practice.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active State Bar membership in preferred states (OK, TX, ND, NM, CO, UT, PA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas law.
  • Strong understanding of the legal framework governing the oil and gas industry in Texas.
  • Proven experience in transactional work.
  • Landman experience is a plus.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of professionalism and commitment to client service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active State Bar membership in preferred states (OK, TX, ND, NM, CO, UT, PA).
