Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate with 4-7 years of experience to join its Litigation & Disputes Practice Group in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on class actions and mass torts, offering the opportunity to work with leading litigators on complex, high-exposure cases.

Duties

  • Participate in the defense of complex class action and mass tort matters in state and federal courts.
  • Manage and support all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, and discovery.
  • Conduct depositions and manage class certification briefing and strategy.
  • Prepare for trial and provide trial support, including appellate briefing.
  • Collaborate with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case management.
  • Interface directly with clients and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Federal circuit court clerkship and/or Assistant U.S. Attorney experience preferred.
  • 4-7 years of complex litigation experience in a big law firm setting.
  • Experience with fact and expert witness depositions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting trial teams in state or federal jury trials.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to take ownership of assignments and assume a high degree of responsibility.
  • Client-service mindset with effective client engagement management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in the state of location preference (or ability to become admitted promptly).
