Job Overview

A law firm seeks a licensed attorney to lead the Intake Department in Bakersfield, CA. This role involves establishing processes, enforcing KPIs, and serving as the knowledge base for intake operations. The successful candidate will lead a team of over 20, instill a sales culture, and ensure exceptional client service through disciplined processes and operational excellence.

Duties

  • Lead, mentor, and manage intake specialists and team leads.
  • Develop and enforce KPIs for retainer sign-on-first-call rates and lead conversion.
  • Ensure team leads conduct weekly 1:1s and monitor call quality.
  • Coordinate and deliver bi-weekly sales training for intake staff.
  • Optimize Salesforce/Litify and other technologies for intake efficiency.
  • Monitor marketing lead sources and produce performance reports.
  • Maintain high client service standards and handle escalated calls.
  • Audit intake scripts and processes for compliance and accuracy.
  • Work with Marketing to optimize lead quality and conversion.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and coverage to minimize missed calls.
  • Partner with HR to recruit and retain top intake talent.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in California.
  • 3+ years of personal injury or plaintiff-side litigation experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead high-volume teams (20+ staff).
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and client service skills.
  • Ability to foster a sales-driven culture in a legal setting.
