Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Lead Attorney for Debt Recovery Litigation in Pasadena, CA. The ideal candidate will manage litigation workflows and collaborate with a dynamic team to deliver effective legal solutions.

Duties

  • Manage state-specific litigation workflows and forms.
  • Conduct document review and discovery.
  • Execute documents requiring the Attorney's signature.
  • Communicate with Managing Attorney and clients regarding case details.
  • Assist in responding to litigation-specific components of client audits.
  • Monitor relevant legal rules, regulations, statutes, and case law.
  • Conduct research and analysis of legal problems.
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using legal precedents.
  • Prepare and file legal documents.
  • Manage and resolve collection litigation.
  • Work with Pro Se litigants, opposing counsel, or other parties to settle files.
  • Oversee and interact with outside collections and defense counsel.
  • Support corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing debt collection.

Requirements

  • Active law license in California.
  • 5-7 years of civil litigation experience; debt collection experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated case analysis ability and proven settlement skills.
  • Ability to teach, train, coach, and mentor.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Proficient in internet and online research.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt and act quickly when urgent matters arise.
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals of various backgrounds.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
