Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney specializing in domestic and civil litigation in Fairfax, VA. The role involves representing clients in court, managing legal proceedings, and leading a team. The firm offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities for career advancement.

Duties

  • Bill at least 28 hours per week.
  • Represent clients in family law and civil legal proceedings.
  • Maintain a client collection rate above 85% weekly.
  • Collaborate with the financial team to forecast client billings.
  • Lead and develop a team of one Associate and one Paralegal.
  • Manage a schedule of hearings and court appearances.
  • Advise staff on legal matters and interpretation of laws.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia; additional state bars are a plus.
  • Experience in litigating domestic and civil cases preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Superior work ethic and desire to build a legal career.
  • Organized with the ability to manage time and multitask.
  • Knowledgeable in family law areas and willing to expand expertise.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents related to family law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in Virginia.
