CERCLA Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced CERCLA Litigation Attorney in Denver, CO. This temporary position involves managing complex environmental litigation, including CERCLA matters, in both state and federal courts. Remote candidates will be considered.

Duties

• Manage multiple complex cases concurrently.
• Initiate strategic oversight to conclude cases.
• Prepare and litigate CERCLA cases from start to finish.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and responses.
• Manage discovery processes effectively.
• Identify and retain expert witnesses.
• Conduct depositions and argue motions.
• Participate in hearings and trials across states.
• Engage in case strategy discussions.
• Communicate effectively with all parties involved.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law.
• 10+ years of experience in complex litigation.
• 8+ years' experience in CERCLA litigation.
• Experience in environmental/toxic torts is a plus.
• Class action and multidistrict litigation experience preferred.
• Proven legal research and writing skills.
• Experience in state and federal courts.
• Strong oral presentation and trial experience preferred.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law.

Skills

• Proficiency in Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook.
• Familiarity with E-Discovery and law programs such as Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, OneLegal.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Strong multitasking and time management skills.
