Job Overview: A law firm in Hastings, MI, is seeking a highly skilled Tax Attorney with over 3+ years of experience in a law or public accounting firm. The ideal candidate will possess significant tax compliance experience and demonstrate the ability to manage files, supervise client contact, and lead cases effectively. This position requires handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining exceptional client service and attention to detail. An LL.M. in Taxation is strongly preferred, and admission to the Michigan Bar is required.

Duties:

• Manage and oversee tax-related legal matters, including compliance and planning.
• Develop and maintain a portable book of business with growth potential.
• Supervise client interactions and lead cases from inception through resolution.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Provide exceptional customer and client service with a high level of responsiveness.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all legal documentation and correspondence.
• Stay current with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a law or public accounting firm, focusing on tax compliance.
• Proven ability to develop business and manage client relationships.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines and projects.
• Excellent customer/client service skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Admission to the Michigan Bar is required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• LL.M. in Taxation is strongly preferred.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Michigan Bar.
