Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Attorney with 3-7 years of experience to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and managing various aspects of litigation, including written and document discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting depositions, appearing for court conferences, and arguing motions in both state and federal courts. Participation in settlement conferences and negotiations, as well as experience with trial preparation, is also desirable.

Duties:

  • Research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court filings
  • Conduct/defend depositions
  • Prepare witnesses for testimony
  • Appear for status conferences
  • Argue motions in both state and federal court

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
  • 3-7 years of litigation experience
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with good time management skills
  • Excellent client service skills with a proven ability to communicate and manage clients
  • Familiarity with Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County courts
  • Substantial experience with complex business litigation in state and federal courts

Certifications and Education:

  • Must hold a J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
  • Must be in good standing and an active member of the State Bar of Michigan

Skills:
