A law firm seeks a talented mid-level associate to join its Private Wealth Services Practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role focuses on providing sophisticated legal solutions in estate planning, business succession, tax strategies, and business transactions. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to address the complex needs of closely held and family-owned businesses, offering opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Duties

  • Advise clients on estate planning and business succession strategies tailored to individual and business needs.
  • Collaborate on tax planning for individuals, partnerships, corporations, LLCs, and family-owned businesses.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to business transactions, estate planning, and tax strategies.
  • Work closely with clients to navigate complex legal and financial challenges, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Contribute to the development of creative solutions for wealth preservation and business continuity.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four years of experience in estate planning, tax law, or business transactions.
  • Strong background in handling legal matters for closely held or family-owned businesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft comprehensive and precise legal documents.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation is required.

Certifications

  • Additional certifications in estate planning, tax law, or related areas are a plus but not mandatory.

Skills

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical abilities for resolving complex legal and financial issues.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented practice.
