Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Real Estate and Estate Planning Associate in Vero Beach, FL. This role offers a mid-level attorney the chance to engage in sophisticated real estate transactions for high-net-worth clients, families, and their entities.

Duties

  • Collaborate with estate planning attorneys on wealth transfer strategies and tax-efficient structuring.
  • Advise clients on real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
  • Structure and negotiate transactions involving estate planning vehicles.
  • Draft and negotiate purchase, sale, lease, and loan documents.
  • Conduct due diligence on real property assets within trusts and estates.
  • Coordinate with external parties to ensure smooth transaction closings.

Requirements

  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
  • 4-6 years of experience in real estate transactions with exposure to private client or estate planning matters.
  • Strong understanding of real property wealth preservation structures.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating transaction documents independently.
  • Familiarity with tax considerations for real estate in trusts and estates.
  • Experience resolving complex title defects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions.
  • Client-service orientation to build relationships with high-net-worth individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 1031 exchanges, QPRTs, or conservation easements.
  • Exposure to land use, zoning, or real estate development matters.
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Florida Bar admission.
