Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Trial Attorney in Jacksonville, FL, to join their high-volume personal injury litigation team. The role involves managing cases from pre-suit evaluation through trial, advocating for clients, and collaborating with legal staff to ensure efficient case handling.

Duties

  • Independently manage a personal injury litigation caseload from pre-suit to post-trial.
  • Draft, file, and argue motions in court.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, including those of parties and experts.
  • Develop and execute trial strategies, including jury selection and witness preparation.
  • Appear in court for hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Evaluate cases for settlement versus trial exposure and negotiate accordingly.
  • Communicate with clients about litigation status and expectations.
  • Maintain organized case documentation using firm systems.
  • Collaborate with pre-suit attorneys and support staff.
  • Comply with ethical obligations and Florida Bar rules.

Requirements

  • Active Florida Bar membership in good standing.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Ability to manage litigation deadlines and court appearances.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence.
  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to use firm-approved case management tools.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Florida Bar membership.
