Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney with 6 to 8 years of commercial or consumer litigation experience to join its consumer litigation and government investigations practice in Washington, DC or Ooltewah, TN. The role involves representing businesses in consumer litigation and government investigations under various consumer protection laws.

Duties

  • Conduct substantive legal research and draft pleadings, discovery, and motions.
  • Manage discovery processes, including drafting requests and reviewing documents.
  • Oversee day-to-day case management and compliance with court rules.
  • Lead smaller matters with minimal supervision, including settlement negotiations.
  • Participate in business development and marketing activities.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in DC, Maryland, Maine, or Tennessee, or eligible for admission by waiver.
  • 6+ years of litigation or government enforcement experience as a licensed attorney.
  • Experience in federal court litigation and consumer arbitration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of consumer financial services industry is welcome but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in relevant jurisdiction.
