Associate Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Litigation Attorney in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 or more years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, and will join a dynamic team handling complex civil litigation and insurance matters.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and memoranda.
• Appear in court for law and motion hearings and case management conferences.
• Take and defend depositions, commensurate with experience.
• Analyze cases and assist in developing litigation strategy.
• Participate in trial preparation and trial.
• Attend and assist with mediations, commensurate with experience.
• Work directly with partners and senior attorneys on complex matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar (or pending admission).
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and genuine desire to grow as a trial lawyer.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar (or pending admission).
