Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Associate Attorney to join their Mass Tort and Environmental team in Lancaster, CA. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure litigation environment.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of mass tort and environmental litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and factual investigation related to environmental exposure and liability issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, experts, and support staff.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of litigation experience in mass torts, environmental law, toxic torts, or complex civil litigation.
  • Active license and in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing discovery and motion practice.
  • Effective time-management and prioritization skills in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-based practice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license with the State Bar of California.
