Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Criminal Defense Attorney for a full-time, on-site position in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The attorney will manage a caseload of criminal matters from initial client intake through resolution, including arraignments, motion practice, plea negotiations, hearings, and trials.

Duties

• Manage criminal cases from intake to resolution.
• Conduct client meetings and analyze case facts.
• Review discovery and conduct legal research.
• Draft motions, briefs, and other pleadings.
• Appear in court and negotiate with prosecutors.
• Develop tailored defense strategies.
• Maintain detailed case files and client communication.
• Collaborate with firm personnel and external experts.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in law and criminal law.
• Experience or training in criminal defense law.
• Proficiency in legal research and trial preparation.
• Active license to practice law in Idaho or ability to obtain admission.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Strong client-relations skills and professionalism.
• Trial or evidentiary hearing experience preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Idaho.
