Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate with 2-4 years of experience to join its Fintech and Financial Advisory practice in Boston, MA. This role involves assisting clients in the financial services industry with litigation, government investigations, and enforcement matters.

Duties

  • Manage all stages of litigation discovery and responses to government subpoenas and civil investigative demands.
  • Assist with preparations for negotiations with government enforcement attorneys and prepare client advocacy materials.
  • Participate in witness and client interviews and depositions, including preparation.
  • Prepare legal memoranda, correspondence, reports, motions, briefs, pleadings, and settlement agreements.
  • Develop litigation and settlement strategies for cases in federal and state court.
  • Perform legal research on federal and state consumer financial services laws and regulations.
  • Communicate in writing and orally with clients and senior attorneys regarding strategy, regulatory risk, and business operations.
  • Write, edit, and review reports, communications, presentations, and articles.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated and creative with exceptional interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable handling multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Thorough, efficient, and detail-oriented in work.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree.

Certifications

  • Membership to the State Bar of the desired office.

Skills

  • Litigation and/or enforcement experience required.
  • Consumer financial services and/or payments experience preferred.
