Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level Patent Prosecution Associate with a background in mechanical or aerospace engineering to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of patent prosecution experience.

Duties

• Conduct patent prosecution at the USPTO or in a law firm setting.
• Collaborate with a team of patent strategists and litigators.
• Advise clients on maximizing intellectual property portfolios.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of patent prosecution experience.
• Minimum of two years of legal practice experience.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong writing skills.
• Sharp analytical ability.

Education

• Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to and in good standing with the relevant bar.
• PTO registration preferred.

Skills

• Strong preference for previous experience as a patent examiner.
• Industry experience is a plus.
