A law firm seeks a Senior Transactional Tax Associate to join its Corporate practice group in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in transactional tax, particularly with M&A transactions in the middle market private equity space. Candidates should possess strong analytical and writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case and transaction preparation.
  • Draft well-reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, and contracts.
  • Assist in managing complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional support and advice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative strategies for favorable outcomes.
  • Participate in high-level legal activities such as court hearings and negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal precedents.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance legal and leadership skills.
  • Contribute to firm programs, civic organizations, and pro bono work.

Requirements

  • 5 years of transactional tax experience.
  • Experience with AmLaw 100 firm preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good business and professional judgment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice in the state of Texas.
