Bankruptcy and Restructuring Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Bankruptcy and Restructuring Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join their practice in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience representing both debtors and creditors, with exposure to complex bankruptcy matters, restructuring, and fiduciary representation.

Duties

• Handle a wide range of bankruptcy matters involving consumer and business debtors, including Chapter 11 proceedings.
• Represent clients in a broad range of bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13.
• Advise and represent creditors, committees, trustees, and fiduciaries in bankruptcy court and related litigation.
• Litigate contested matters and adversary proceedings arising in bankruptcy cases.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors' rights.
• Background in both debtor- and creditor-side representation.
• Strong writing, communication, and case management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the state bar in Maryland or eligibility for admission.
