Job Overview
A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of defense litigation experience to join their team in Milwaukee, WI. The successful candidate will manage cases from inception through resolution, working closely with firm Shareholders on various litigation matters.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and analyze materials for litigation and trial preparation.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials.
  • Develop case strategy.
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in defense litigation.
  • Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin or eligible for admission.
  • Experience handling cases from start to finish.
  • Experience arguing motions in court.
  • Jury trial experience preferred.
  • Strong written communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin or eligible for admission.
