Premises Liability Litigation Counsel

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a counsel attorney with eight or more years of experience in high-exposure premises liability and catastrophic injury defense litigation to join their team in Las Vegas, NV. The candidate will defend large commercial enterprises in premises liability matters, including wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims.

Duties

• Defend resorts, security and events contractors, and product manufacturers in high-exposure cases.
• Manage all phases of litigation, including dispositive motions and expert-intensive discovery.
• Conduct depositions and participate in trial proceedings.
• Engage in community activities as part of the firm's commitment.

Requirements

• Eight or more years of relevant litigation experience.
• First-chair or significant second-chair trial experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Admission to practice law in Nevada.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Nevada.

Skills

• Proficiency in all phases of litigation.
• Strong advocacy and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

This large West Coast based law firm is new to Las Vegas, and doing its best to make sure it fits in by continuing to establish itself as a community leader wherever it goes. The firm has a full service business practice that is renowned all over the West, but is also using its new Nevada offices to offer specialty practices that apply especially to Nevada, such as gaming laws to help promote an expansion within the state. While it continues to expand, though, it also leaves room for a lot of pro bono work, which is seen as an important part of each attorney's workload.
