Litigation Special Counsel

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Special Counsel to join its Miami, FL office. This full-time position supports the Construction Practice Group, focusing on single-family housing matters. The role requires autonomy and the ability to manage a high volume of cases, often proceeding in arbitration.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft motions.
• Argue motions in court and participate in depositions.
• Engage in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of insurance and construction claims.
• Manage a team of paralegals and support staff.
• Settle cases effectively and efficiently.

Requirements

• 3 to 7 years of litigation experience.
• Some deposition and trial experience.
• Experience in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of insurance claims, construction and design defect claims, and related matters is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record in settling cases.
• Prior experience managing a team of paralegals and support staff is beneficial.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proven track record in settling cases.

Education

• JD from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Active member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
