Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Corporate Transactional Attorney with over 10 years of experience to join its practice in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will independently manage complex transactions and provide strategic legal advice in a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Independently manage sophisticated corporate transactions from letter of intent through closing.
• Lead and negotiate mergers and acquisitions, business sales, and financing transactions.
• Advise clients on corporate governance, entity structuring, and succession planning.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and transactional agreements.
• Coordinate and manage all aspects of transactions, including opposing counsel and internal teams.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to founders, entrepreneurs, and private companies.
• Provide strong project management throughout complex transactions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of corporate transactional experience at a reputable law firm.
• Significant experience in handling M&A and complex commercial transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and close sophisticated transactions independently.
• Portable book of business of at least $100,000 required.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and client management skills.
• Illinois Bar admission required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the Illinois Bar.
