Litigation Attorney

A law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney with a strong background in civil litigation to join its practice. The successful candidate will have over 10 years of litigation experience and be able to manage a full caseload independently while maintaining strong client relationships. Duties:

• Handle all aspects of civil litigation from inception through resolution, including trial, mediation, and appeal work.
• Lead and manage cases independently while collaborating with team members when necessary.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients, maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout the litigation process.
• Draft and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in court, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
• Work closely with clients to assess risks, evaluate options, and negotiate settlements when appropriate.
• Maintain and grow a book of business through effective client relationship management and networking.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil litigation.
• A portable book of business is required.
• Must be admitted to practice law in Maryland.
• Admission to the District of Columbia and Virginia Bars is a plus.
• Strong ability to manage a diverse caseload and work independently.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters to clients clearly and concisely.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to make sound legal judgments.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland.
• DC and Virginia Bar admissions are advantageous but not mandatory.
